9th Workshop in Virus Evolution, March 9-12, 2017, State College, Pennsylvania

Invited speakers for the 2017 meeting are (in alphabetical order):  Mya Breitbart, Nels Elde, Mart Krupovic, Adam Lauring, Andrew Read, and Rachel Whitaker.  If you have attended this meeting in the past you know that I have never had any repeats in the list of invited speakers, so if you have been invited to speak in the past your work may be fabulous (I am sure it is!) but you will have to cover your own costs for this one.
The workshop will be held at the Toftrees Golf Resort, where we met in 2015.  We will begin on Thursday, March 9th, 2017with dinner, followed by an evening session.  Sessions will be held on Friday and Saturday, and Sunday (12th) will be essentially a travel day.  As always, all participants are expected to PRESENT either a short talk or a poster.  Please indicate your preference when you submit your abstract.
Call for abstracts is now open.  Abstracts are for planning purposes only and are due DECEMBER 1ST 2016.  You will receive notice of acceptance before January 1 To submit your abstract, please attach it as a word document to an email FROM the PRESENTER to ME, (mjr25@psu.edu)  with the subject line VirEvol2017 Abstract Once your abstract is accepted you will receive further instructions for registration.  Please do not submit an abstract if you do not seriously plan to attend.  Attendance is limited.
I am organizing support and cannot give you an exact figure for registration, but I expect it to be between $200 and $250.  This will cover all meals, drinks, etc.  We will have a room rate this year of $79/night, one or two people. This room rate includes roundtrip transportation to/from the University Park airport in State College (SCE).
Hope to see you in State College.
